It was a great season for the wild roses this summer in Virginia. Which is a great thing for forest things (and for you). We were able to hand harvest lost of wild rose & dry them for our lip balms, skin friend salve, and other goodies. Pretty much any of the wild rose is usable. There are so many different varieties of rose all over the US and they are all usable! This season we harvested many varieties of rose (native, naturalized, & invasive). The two main rose we harvested are the Rosa Multiflora (baby rose) and Virginia Rose (rosa virginiana) - these are more fragrant roses of our harvests. Here are some beautiful photo... oh rose, you're so lovely.
